Wondering What It's Like to Go On One of Our Trips?
Watch the video below to learn more!
What You do
You travel to the homes of the orphans.
- You do construction and other service projects in the mornings, improving the family-style orphanages and their communities (no previous skills required).
- You play hard with the orphans in the afternoons, bringing fun and joy; letting them know people care about them.
What We Do
We make it easy to serve.
- We evaluate orphanages, find honest and kind directors, and get everything ready for service trips.
- We recruit awesome volunteers like you to help.
- We work to provide long-term funding to the orphanages so they can give a loving, safe, and stable environment to vulnerable children.
“Painting murals and window trim at Casa de Paz orphanage in El Porvenir, Baja, Mexico. Usually we’re laying block or tile or building beds to make the dorms move-in ready for the kiddos, so I wondered if my efforts at artistic painting were worthwhile. Then, one of the little girls who lives in this dorm walked in, took a look at her newly pink walls with murals of flowers and sunshine, and a huge grin spread across her face. She excitedly looked at her friend, saying something in Spanish, and grabbing people to pose for a photo in front of the art. After nine years of doing these trips, it finally hit me that we’re not just constructing houses for children– we’re building their homes.”
Upcoming Service Trips
All adults 18+ will be subject to a background check prior to their service trip for all trips during and after 2022.
I have been on several trips with this organization. They do a great job and help a lot of kids. They are expanding to help even more. I would recommend taking a trip or donating to help them out.
This is such a fulfilling experience! The organization has nothing but great intentions to help these sweet children! We love this experience. We have gone 3 times now. We feel like the children are our children for the week. We love and miss them. We are able to do a lot of good while we are there. It is great to get the Mexico experience also. We work hard, have fun, and eat GREAT FOOD!!!!!
I’ve taken my family on over a dozen humanitarian service trips with ACHF over the past 10 years. They’re a great organization doing tons of good for the orphans as well as the volunteers.
Our family of 6 traveled with ACHF to Rancho de los ninos, Mexico, in Dec 2018 and we haven’t stopped talking about the life changing experience since our return. I was quite apprehensive about serving in an orphanage, with so many opportunities for abuse or misappropriation of funds or mismanagement. But what we saw and what we did on a daily basis with these happy and well loved children removed all my trepidations and I can wholeheartedly support ACHF in their fundraising and will highly recommend this organisation to those that wish to directly affect the lives of children and young adults who have little control over their situation.
The money you pay goes directly to paying for what YOU eat and use that week as well as paying for a few special meals and activities for the children as well as supplies for projects. There is little to no down-time, if you aren’t working, playing, talking, sharing, then that is on you, the activities are as groups but individual effort and connection with the children is up to you. The children are joyful and well cared for with clean living spaces and good access to healthcare and education. Thank you ACHF! Already planning next year’s visit.
