Adopt a Project

What's a Project Tile?

A project tile is one specific, manageable piece of the greater whole. Each tile represents a particular project that an individual or a group can “adopt” and fund– a project that represents one of the most urgent, most important needs of our orphanage partners.

The great thing about project tiles is that they make it crystal clear where your donation will be going, and much easier to choose the areas of focus that mean the most to you.

Everyone who adopts a project tile can rest assured that 100% of their contribution will go to a project that really matters right now— not to overhead, not to other projects, just the one specific project outlined in the project tile.

Maintaining security is a priority concern not only for A Child’s Hope Foundation, but also the orphanages we partner with. Rancho de los Ninos is home to 85 children and around 20 adult caregivers and other support staff. The sprawling “ranch” is located on the southern edge of the small town of El Porvenir in the Guadalupe Valley. Currently there is no fence surrounding the orphanage and there is a desire to increase the security of the facility in order to better ensure safety of the children. This is particularly important from late evening to morning when there is no one watching the front entry gate and there are fewer people outside to identify unfamiliar people.

On a different note, one of the key indicators of Rancho’s success at supporting their children is that despite their lack of fences and closed gates currently, they do not have a problem with children running away. This is a unique outcome of their positive environment and place where the children enjoy being.

Once it’s completed, the fence will be over 3,000 feet long. So far, less than 200 feet have been completed using supplies and labor as it is sporadically available. There are still 2,500+ feet to be completed and cinder block, cement, and brick laying tools are needed to complete this project. Ideally, it would be best to have hired labor complete this project. However, the orphanage caregivers are willing to work on this project as they are available.

Project Timeline

It’s difficult to put a timeline on security. The sooner the fence is built the better. It is estimated that with a full time hired laborer, it will take 12 work days to complete the fence. Ideally, we hope to have the fence built by the end of December.
