Adopt a Project

What's a Project Tile?

A project tile is one specific, manageable piece of the greater whole. Each tile represents a particular project that an individual or a group can “adopt” and fund– a project that represents one of the most urgent, most important needs of our orphanage partners.

The great thing about project tiles is that they make it crystal clear where your donation will be going, and much easier to choose the areas of focus that mean the most to you.

Everyone who adopts a project tile can rest assured that 100% of their contribution will go to a project that really matters right now— not to overhead, not to other projects, just the one specific project outlined in the project tile.

While constructing our first orphanage in Haiti in 2003, we came to know a teenager named Dovick Joseph. Today, Dovick and his wife operate CSEDI Orphanage (Centre de secours des enfants en difficulté – “Rescue Center for the Needy Children”) and are saving the lives of Haitian children who would otherwise be abandoned and living homeless. There are currently about 35 children, ranging from infants to teenagers, living at CSEDI.

Part of CSEDI has also been operating as a makeshift school for around 150 children from the orphanage and local community. However, the space used for school is extremely overcrowded and not built to last. We have been working with CSEDI to build a permanent school adjacent to the orphanage that will be large enough to serve over 200 kids from the orphanage and local community.

Construction on the school has begun but we need to secure additional funding to complete the plumbing, septic tank, electrical, tile, painting, hardware and solar power system. We also need funds to furnish the school with desks, chairs, cabinets, etc.

Project Timeline

The current school space does not provide a good learning environment for the kids so we hope to complete the school as soon as possible. Ideally, the new school would open up in March 2021.
