A Child’s Hope Foundation Hosts First Golf Tournament Fundraiser on October 2
Proceeds from the “Light the Orphanage” Golf Tournament will provide electricity for a newly built orphanage in Baja, Mexico.
Orem, Utah, September 27, 2017 — Orem-based nonprofit A Child’s Hope Foundation is hosting its first golf tournament fundraising event on October 2, 2017, to fund electricity at the new Buena Vida Orphanage in La Mision, Baja, Mexico.
The event will be held at the Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah. Registration for the event, with continental breakfast, will begin at 7 a.m. Tee off for the 18-hole scramble will be at 8:00 a.m. A luncheon, raffle, and an awards ceremony will follow at 12:30 p.m. Special guest Mike Reid, PGA Champion, will be in attendance to greet the golfers on hole 3.
Proceeds from the golf tournament will be used by A Child’s Hope Foundation to bring electricity to a new orphanage built by volunteers during the last 24 months. Land for the new building was purchased with donated funds when A Child’s Hope Foundation learned that the Buena Vida Orphanage was losing its current home. Getting the electrical needs met is one of the last step before the children and their caregivers can move into the new building.
“Our volunteer groups have worked hard to build a new orphanage for the kids at Buena Vida,” said Kent White, executive director of A Child’s Hope Foundation. “We’re excited for this event to raise the remaining funds needed to move them into their new home.”
The event is sponsored by a variety of local businesses and private donors.
