| A Child's Hope Foundation has instituted our caregiver program to enhance the care of our orphaned children in Haiti. The safety of our volunteers is our first priority. Our second priority is to do everything possible to help children living in the orphanage reach their full potential and better help them transition into their adoptive families.

Volunteers stay at the orphanage in the countryside of TiMache, Haiti. It is a farming community with all the sights, smells, and sounds of a underdeveloped area. The animals wake up very early (bring earplugs)! You will live inside the walls of a three acre compound. It is somewhat remote from the bustle and diversions of the city and there may be times when you will feel isolated, but TiMache offers ample opportunities to play and teach the village's children too. We will do what we can to provide opportunities for volunteers to see other parts of the island, but this is not our primary purpose in instituting the program, and we will not do so to the detriment of our first two priorities.

We give careful consideration to each volunteer's needs while they are serving at the facility. Volunteers will have access to internet computers and phones, though service may be intermittent. Each volunteer will have sufficient time for religious worship, language studies, and hobbies.

The opportunity to change lives awaits you. Love and gratitude will fill your heart as you serve children who are eagerly waiting to belong to a family. The cycle of abandonment and poverty can be broken, the future of generations can by changed, the opportunity for a child to reach his or her full potential can be realized. Through hard work, you can be a part of that change.

A Child's Hope Foundation invites you to forget yourself in the service of others for a season of your life, and in so doing, find greater satisfaction, love, and gratitude than you may have ever thought possible.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to instability in Haiti, we have suspended the caregiver program at this time. We hope to open a new program in Mexico early 2008 and will post updates as soon as we are able to resume the program in Haiti or begin the new program in Mexico. |
