  APRIL MEXICO PROJECT
Jamie Harmon
Jamie Harmon (volunteer) playing with one of the orphans

A Child's Hope Foundation had a great work project in Mexico this April. We were able to lay much of the cinder block for a new dormatory at Buena Vida Orphanage, we framed the interior walls of a multi-purpose building at Rancho El Faro Orphanage, we poured a sidewalk and painted a shed at Door of Faith Orphanage, and we were able to donate hundreds of dollars in cash and food to Casa de Paz Orphanage. We also had the opportunity to serve breakfast to needy children in Tijuana. Again, we had a great time and accomplished a lot.

Volunteers often ask, "What does a typical work day look like?" Well, we usually wake up at dawn and eat a quick breakfast. We then work at the various projects (construction for the most part) until lunch around 2pm. After lunch we visit various orphanages to bring them supplies and play with the kids. Then we go to the beach, go shopping, and do other touristy types of things. At night we gather around a camp fire, discuss the projects for the next day, share experiences and thoughts about service, and play games. We just have a great time!

It is not uncommon for volunteers to approach us sometime during the project and tell us that they would like to make these projects an annual event for their families. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to not only provide a meaningful opportunity to benefit orphans in Baja California, Mexico, but also to enjoy the love and joy that comes from interacting with the children. We hope to see you on one of these trips soon!

The Krushelnitsky Orphanage in front of their new vehicle

As many of you remember, A Child's Hope Foundation held a benefit concert in December to raise money to purchase a vehicle for the Krushelnitsky family-oriented orphanage. Here the director thanks all who donated to this effort so that they could buy this vehicle.

Thank you so very much for everything! The new van is sitting in the driveway and this last Sunday we were able to use it to go to church. I drove the van, and it was a little-bit scary because I hadn't driven in such a long time, but with God's help all went fine. The children were very happy that they didn't have to go out and wait for the bus in the freezing cold. We thank God and all you good people for this blessing, and pray that the Lord will abundantly bless you for your efforts.

Thank you, thank you!!!

With love,
The Krushelnitsky Family Orphanage
